Ontario Invests in Local Community Resources McGuinty Government Helps Build Safe, Secure and Accessible Community Agencies

Ontario is investing a total of $42,600 in the riding of Timiskaming-Cochrane for local agencies who are providing social services to people in our community.

These agencies include;

-Community Living Temiskaming South ($19,800)

-Community Living West Nipissing ($18,400)

-Community Living Cochrane ($4,400)

These funds are part of a $3.2-million province-wide investment to improve accessibility, safety and security in community social service agencies. This investment will help agencies upgrade their facilities and serve more people. Upgrades in Timiskaming-Cochrane include new washrooms, a new roof, new garage doors and repairs to a leaky roof.

This funding will allow these agencies to keep their facilities in good condition for those who need them, and will help cover the costs of important [upgrades/building improvements/renovations] like: [insert important features that agencies in above list are receiving funding for].

QUOTES

“Improving the safety and accessibility of social service agencies is a high priority,” said MPP David Ramsay. “This investment will help our local agencies provide better services to the people in our community who need them most.”

“Community agencies provide essential services and must reflect the needs of all those in our community. That’s why it’s so important that these agencies are safe, secure and accessible to everyone,” said Minister of Community and Social Services Madeleine Meilleur.
