Extending municipal services to establish an industrial park in West Nipissing will secure a primary tenant whose proposed manufacturing plant is expected to create some 150 jobs with an estimated annual payroll of $7 million.
The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) is providing $1,107,800 tothe Municipality of West Nipissing to extend water, sewer and electrical power services to a 12-hectare industrial park just west of Sturgeon Falls between Highway 17 and the Ottawa Valley Railway line. NOHFC funding will also be used to build a rail siding to service the industrial park and turning lanes from the highway. The municipality expects the site to be ready for development by next summer.
