Ontario is improving local roads in the Township of Armstrong before the International Plowing Match and Rural Expo takes place this fall and to help boost the local economy and showcase Ontario’s rural and agricultural communities.
Improvements of $1 million for Government Road, Hilliardton Road, Gravel Road, Dairy Lane, Poupore Road and Mini Farm Road recently began and will be completed in early September 2009. Work includes culvert replacements, ditching, new gravel, surface treatment and selective paving.
Funding for this project is made possible through a one time investment announced in the 2009 Ontario Budget. This investment adds to the $1.5 million provided to the Townships of Evanturel and Armstrong in 2008 to initiate the road improvements.
