Sturgeon Falls Gets New Sign Business McGuinty Government Invests In Young Northern Entrepreneurs

Ontario is assisting with the start-up of a sign production venture in Sturgeon Falls.

The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) is providing $25,000 to a young entrepreneur to establish Signtastic Plus. The funds will help buy needed machinery and equipment, and the business will operate out of the entrepreneur’s residence.

“Our North is filled with young people who possess ambition, talent, and a solid work ethic,” said Northern Development and Mines Minister Michael Gravelle, who also chairs the NOHFC.

“The youth of today are the builders of tomorrow. We are happy to support their businessdevelopment efforts at home in Northern Ontario,” said Timiskaming-Cochrane MPP David Ramsay.

§Funding for this venture was provided through the NOHFC’s Young Entrepreneur Program.

§Since January 2005, the Young Entrepreneur Program has provided over $3.7 million to 167 young entrepreneurs in Northern Ontario.
